start of jobtech
in 2018 i was given the oportunity to join the new department jobtech with devops.
the new assignment had many interesting properties:
- working with opensource
- open data
- build services for 3rd parties to add to the common good
jobtech is organized in teams that are given a great deal of autonomy. this sits well with devops, and i was given the same degree of autonomy in starting up devops.
we decided early on in using container based technologies. at the time docker stack was still competing with kubernettes, but we decided early on on openshift, redhats kubernettes distro. this has proven fortuituous. we started with openshift online, moved to openshift 3.11, and now we upgrade continuously.
